First Platinum Jubilee film in Pakistan..
The release of Indian films in Pakistani cinemas were totally banned when the 65-war between Pakistan and India erupted on September 6, 1965.
Punjabi film "Jeedaar" was the first ever feature film to become a Platinum Jubilee hit (75 weeks) film in Pakistan. This film celebrated 56 weeks on its main cinema, Reevali in Lahore.
"Malangi" made an unique record with "Double Golden Jubilee"
in the same cinema, Odion Lahore.
"Mala" was the first Cinema scope film, which was produced by Dosani and Mustafiz in Dhaka in the "East" Pakistan.
Raqs zanjeer pehan kar bhi kiya jata hay... Neelo tried to commit suicide on February 11 after she allegedly was "kidnapped" and was forced to dance in a party honoured for Royal Guest King of Iran, Mohammad Raza Shah Pehlvi. She refused and was assaulted by the officials. Famous poet Habib Jalib payed tribute to Neelo on this bravery against a military dictator's order and wrote his famous poem "Raqs zanjeer pehan kar bhi kiya jata hai..." which latter was filmed by Neelo's husband Riaz Shahid in his super hit film Zarqa. Riaz Shahid married her after this incident.

OBITUARIES: Actors: Famous actor Agha Salim Raza (and not singer Salim
Raza) died on July 7 and comedian Sultan Khoost died on February 17,
1965.
One of the greatest ever romantic and melodious film in Pakistan. The story
was based on the famous novell by Razia Butt and the music was composed
by Inayat Hussain. It was Mala's best musical film. Shamim Ara, Santosh,
Darpan and Ragni played leading roles.

It's very interesting fact that this classic duet song "Door veeraney mein
ik Shama hay roshan kab se..." was written by Hamayet Ali Shair but its
sad version was written by Qateel Shafai. He re-used "mukhra or asthai"
(stanza) from duet and wrote "antra" (rest of the lyrics) by him self. (thanks
to researcher and journalist Mr. Aqeel Abbas Jafri, Karachi, Pakistan).
