I am a huge fan of Noorjehan and also Abida Perveen, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Farida Khanum, Reshma and also new singers like Hadiqua Kiyani, Fuzon and Fariha Pervez.
Just a few days ago, I discovered some new links on pakistani music, and was listening to some gems sung by Gulbahar Bano, Noorjehan. These are http://www.themuzik.com/ and http://www.dishant.com/
This has huge collection of Ghazals by Abida Perveen, Ghulam Ali, Mehdi hassan, Noorjehan etc.
Anyway, coming back to my farmaishi songs,
- Tere mukhre te kala kala til we... (film Chann We), and
- ja ja main tose nahi bolun... (film Film Mousiqar).
I would like if you can find links or possible source of buying them. If you can record them from your personal collection, I can pay for the expenses.
In my view, internet has some of the most famous songs of Noorjehan, which everyone has heard in Pakistan. But there are a lot of less famous songs which are as good or even better than some of the famous ones. For example, this song of Noorjehan, ja ja main tose nahi bolun..., I will say it is one of the top tens or twenty of Noorjehan songs. But it is not so famous, like it is not in her cd collections. Similarly, there are less famous singers like Gulbahar Bano, Mala, Mehnaz who have sung wonderful songs but we know too little. I think, you can think about making a separate section of top fifty or twenty songs of each singer. There are some Punjabi songs of Noorjehan that I have heard in my childhood. I remember the tunes but no words. So there is no way to find them.
But as you know I am a great music fan, I have sung with Pervez Akhtar in Copenhagen. But I am much bigger fan of Pakistani film music than he is.
Anyway, my own yahoo discussion list is on the following website
The other one where we have exchanged Noorjehan songs among many other singers is
At this moment, the group is discussing hindi films, but there was a discussion over a long period of time of Noorjehan songs in the last couple of years.
Thanks a lot for sending me the link, you have made my day! I would however prefer to download it, if you can find osme source to do that. I am waiting for the Mousikar song.
You can put my mail on your website if you want to, although there is nothing new or important in it. I meant at least top twenty songs from each singer, not necessarily based on fame but based on real worth of the song, and i think people like Pervaiz can be a great help in doing this work. As you know there are several useless songs of Noorjehan which are famous and do her more harm than good. There is one song of Noorjehan
which for me is her number one,(anyway at least in her top twenty) but its not found on any pakistani link, i downloaded it from Sangeet ke Sitare group, its AA ke wabsta hai is husn ki yaddein tujhmein... I have got it in my collection.

I forgot to mention one more song of Noorjehan Ghazab Kiya Tere wade peh etbar kiya...(film Intezaar), which is found on http://www.peshawar1.com, but its media player is not working, which I would very much like you too look for me. I don't know the film name.
There was one webiste, where there were hundreds of old songs of Zubaida Khnaum, Nasseem Beghum (a lot of Punjabi songs) among many others, for free download, and i downloaded many. But now (after my computer has been reformatted) i can't find that website and don't have a clue to a single word in the address.
I am thinking to make a list of top ten or twenty songs myself also and send it to you.
Similarly about Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's songs, there are hundreds of websites with hundred different versions of his qawwalis sung at different places and times. But one of the best for example Ye jo halka halka suroor hai..., which I downloaded it from http://pakemp3.com, which i don't know exists now. I have also one of the best versions of Ali Maula... song by Nusrat.
Anyway, I am listening to Noorjehan day and night until this i get tired, and this is started by this song link you sent me.
