Manorma, Pran, Nasir Khan and Suresh in Pakistani films:
Just after the partition, film actors Manorma, Pran, Nasir
Khan (father of Indian film and TV actor Ayub Khan, the
nephew of Dilip Kumar), Hamalya wala, Shahnawaz, Najmulhasan, Sadiq Ali (prince
of Minerva), Ghouri, Charlie, Luddan, Ghulam Mohammed, Suraish and Begum Para (wife of Nasir Khan, mother of Ayub Khan, grand
mother of Amirta Singh, ex-wife of Saif Ali Khan) came to Paksitan for settlement
but after observing the poor condition and dark future (as they thought) of
film industry in Lahore, Pran, Manorma, Begum Para, Nasir Khan and Suraish
returned to India. In Pakistan Nasir
Khan worked in Teri
Yad and Shahida, Suraish worked in Do
Kinarey.
This is mentioned here that Begum Para also visited to Pakistan in early 70's
and intended to get citizen ship of Pakistan but due to some reasons she again
returned back to India. Begum Para is sister in law of Ex-Minister Hafeez Peer
zada (1971-77).
Pran and Manorma worked in Khana
Badosh (Monorma, Pran, Kalawati and Ajmal) and
Butt tarash (Manorma, Pran, Irshad and Suraish) directed by Afzal Jahangeer
and music by Ghulam Haider.
Butt Tarash and Khana Badosh were made in Lahore but these
films were not released in Pakistan. But Trash is listed in Indian films director
released in 1947 but we do not find Khana Badosh in both lists, so we can not
count them as Pakistani films. Moreover In 100 yrs film directory, Yaseen
Goreeja sahib did not mentioned
these films in Pakistani films listing. (But these two films - Butt Trash and
Khana Badosh - were included in Goreja sahib's Golden Jubilee film directory
from 1986 - Mazhar). |
